Lake Maggiore is known worldwide, not only for its extraordinary beauty, but also as one of the best organized tourist resort in Italy.
Baveno is situated in a romantic and panoramic region in the central part of the Lake, in front of the Borromeo islands. This little known town has many fascinating nooks and crannies, luxurious gardens and small beaches. Of interest is Villa Fedora inside the public park, where the covered theatre is set up during the Festival.
The resort is enriched by its historical town centre, whose ancient origins can be judged by the roman inscriptions on the façade of the Parish Church. This historical complex dates from the 11th century and includes a baptistery, a bell tower, a church yard and a via Crucis.
